If you're wondering what is inside of Digital Church University and how it can benefit your ministry, this blog post is for you!
(P.S. Watch the Video For An Inside Peek)
1. First thing first, it's important to know why our learning platform exists for ministries like yours:
What is Digital Church University About?
DCU is an online educational platform for churches. It teaches ministry leaders how to use social media and digital technology to create an e-church/hybrid experience, and how to build digital pathways.
With our hands-on approach, we teach you how to develop a social media strategy for your church, how to create social media policies, how to increase your following, how to repurpose your current church content, AND most importantly, how to connect all of your digital systems together (text, web, email, social) to create sustainable growth!
2. Second, there are two major things that impact the future of the church that we're seeing right now:
It includes giving and membership.
The hard truth: Physical church attendance has been on the decline for decades and COVID, unfortunately, helped to accelerate the decline even more.
Even with church re-opening, ministries have seen a tremendous decrease in gathers. Because there has been an enormous shift in how we do life in general, the church will also have to strategically respond to this change.
I read an article that said: "More and more growing churches will embrace online viewing from home, micro-gatherings, and micro-campuses as normal. If you can be good with the fact that micro-gatherings, distributed gatherings, and people watching from the home count, then you can mobilize those people in the same way you would people who are in your building."
AND, the bottom line is that people in the building and outside of the building impact giving.
3. Third, and final, developing a strategic plan as well as a HYBRID ministry is the solution:
So, what is a strategic plan anyway? It's a communications plan that details your target audiences, defines your key messages, maximizes your outreach, and outlines the team members needed to execute tasks. Importantly, it keeps you from being redundant or missing anything.
Next, a Hybrid Ministry is one that includes both physical and digital membership...but also, so much more.
Hybrid churches match technology and empathy, which connections people to God. It builds authentic faith and connects people spiritually -whether they are in-person or online.
Ministries will begin to accomplish this concept by putting the right people in place, connecting their technologies together, and developing strategies that are innovative.
