The best way that I can explain it is how I explained it to my students at Hampton University. My generation (Millennials) was a part of the internet and social media era. Their generation (Gen Z) will be a part of the VR and AI (Artificial Intelligence) era.
For those a part of the generations prior, this may be a harder concept to grasp.
Essentially, it means things like going to a virtual concert, taking a trip online, and buying and trying on digital clothing can all happen from your living room.
Facebook has also added to the "metaverse" Horizon Workrooms, which with their Oculus VR headsets, is a new meeting software for companies.
For those who can afford it, users would be able, through their avatars, to flit between virtual worlds created by different companies. WHOA!
What does this mean for the Church?
This concept can take your e-church or virtual church experience to a whole new level.
Are you ready for it?
Personally, I'm not ready for it just yet...but the truth is, it's coming!
If you're inside of the Digital Church University Facebook Group, you get ALL of the details before they happen on social media. Know what's next.
